Abstract
The most common cause of begin hypertension in childhood has been renal origin, but the paroxysmal hypertension was noted mostly in the tumors originated from the chromaffin tissue such as pheochromocytoma, and very rarely in adrenal medullary hyperplasia.
Drukker et al.(^1)) described the adrenal medullary hyperplasia which arsed from the adrenal gland at the first time as a counterpart to pheochromocytoma.
We presented a case of adrenal medullary hyperplasia arising from the left adrenal gland and associating takayasu¢¥s disease in a 13 year old girl, and reviewed the literature as the 5th case in the world following the report of Drukker et al.,(^1)) Montalbano et al.,(^2)) Greco and Maio,(^3)) and Dano and Vennits(^4)).
